Build Diary - 'Saucy Jack' 21" Mandola 6 String

Custom ordered by the Minstrel Rav'n, Indiana, USA.

Dave almost exclusively plays mandolas and wanted to experiment with octave strings on the lower two (like a 12 string guitar) leaving the higher two plain strings available to bend.

We used our favoured approach of a muti-laminate through neck with English ash wings & found a gorgeous length of Cocobola for the fingerboard. Tuners are Schaller.

We airbrushed his pirate logo on the upper bout & turned the build around in 5 weeks from concept to delivery.
